Author Visit: Douglas Wood
Today, Mr. Douglas Wood came to visit our school. He told us a little bit more about himself...
Then, he told a story of rabbit having a dream...
Then he shared with us the covers of some of his books. We even got a sneak peek at his newest book which hasn't even been released yet! It will be available in stores next week.
Mr. Wood then invited us to sing a song with him...
We also sang a song about our very own spaceship...
The most important thing he wanted us to remember was:

1. Hold on to your dreams.
2. Do not give up.
3. Ask for help.
Thank you, Mr. Douglas Wood!

Recycled Superheroes
Today was a busy day! We had our student recognition ceremony and we celebrated Earth Day. We had the opportunity to dress up as "Recycled Superheroes" ...
... and our read aloud during Readers Workshop was Why Should I Recycle?, written by Jen Green and illustrated by Mike Gordon. We also made cool little bracelets out of can tabs and ribbon.

Then we reused plastic gallon bottles as our bunny baskets for our afternoon math egg hunt.
How do you conserve, reduce, reuse, or recycle?

Thinking of proper prefix to use...
Do you know what it means when 'un' is at the beginning of a word? (i.e. undo)
Do you know what it means when 're' is at the beginning of a word? (i.e. redo)
