We Are Family!

Fact Families are used to help students learn the relationship between addition and subtraction. Understanding the inverse relationship between addition and subtraction can be used to find subtraction facts.
How can you help at home? Give your child a math sentence/equation (i.e. 10-4 = 6) and asked them to tell you all of the related math sentences/equations. Remember, the same numbers are in each math sentence/equation in a fact family.
Have you visited this month's Standards Based Bulletin Board (SBBB)?

Sharing our Family Work

During closing, sharing our work after determining with a partner a fact family.
This group pulled the cards 4 and 7 (the parts) and determined together it makes 11 (the whole). Then they wrote the equations that had a relationship with those three numbers:
4 + 7 = 11
7 + 4 = 11
11 - 4 = 7
What is the missing related subtraction math sentence?
