Playing Ten Turns with a partner.

What strategy did you use to help you keep track of your new total?

Playing a game of concentration... with a twist. For a match, make a combination of 10 using two cards.

Playing Go Fish 10 - ask other players for the card you need to complete a combination of ten.

Started with 8 counters. Now only 2 are outside the cup.
How many are in the cup?

Yes! It was 6 counters under the cup. (2 + 6 = 8)

What strategies would you use to solve the problem?

Students working in pairs to fill the hexagons on the gameboard by rolling the pattern block cube and working together.
